Welcome to Custom Cakes of Portland, Maine, where we specialize in unique wedding cakes, birthday cakes, and other personalized cakes for a variety of special occasions.  Whether you desire a sophisticated, multi-tiered wedding cake with hand crafted sugar flowers as a beautiful showpiece, or a whimsical sculpted birthday cake or groom’s cake, we work personally with each client to insure their satisfaction.  All of our cakes, fillings, and buttercreams are made from scratch using quality ingredients, and then covered and decorated with fondant.  The fondant is what gives the cake tiers the porcelain-like sheen and elegant finish that is so popular on wedding cakes today. It also allows us to sculpt our cakes into various 3–dimensional objects that can add the "Wow" factor to any party.

We also offer cupcake towers, which have recently become the popular trend for weddings, birthdays, and shower parties.  For those of us that must be budget minded in today’s economy, cupcakes offer a less expensive alternative to a large cake, yet are still fun and individualized for your guests.  The tower can also be combined with a small fondant covered cake on the top tier to help enhance its elegance as a centerpiece.  The cupcakes are made with the same heart and soul that we put into our larger cakes, as we want your guests to be amazed by the flavors of your cake as well as the appearance.
